Dublin, Va.-based Allegheny Logistics Group has named a director of business development for its three subsidiaries—Allegheny Brokerage, Allegheny Logistics Services and Allegheny Ocean Transport.  He is Lee Milton of Greensboro, N.C., a licensed customs broker and a 20-year veteran in the supply logistics industry, specializing in regulatory compliance, transportation management and distribution and warehouse logistics.

Milton holds both a bachelor’s degree in finance/economics and an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He has managed logistics activities at Polo Ralph Lauren, Wrangler/Lee, Avery Denison and Volvo Logistics.

“Lee brings a broad perspective to our company with his experience in international freight, the textile/apparel and automotive industries as well as third/fourth party logistics,” said Allegheny Logistics Group president James Loux. “He wholeheartedly believes in our philosophy of exceptional customer service and advice that leads to success for both our clients and our company.”

With extensive operations throughout western Virginia, Allegheny now plans to enlarge its territory to include Southside Virginia and central North Carolina as well as enhance its focus on the Lynchburg region. “Over the past 12 years our business has grown, and we recently expanded our portfolio to include the Logistics Services and Ocean Transport,” Loux said. “With the addition of this senior management position, we will be able to increase the international footprint for all types of business from major corporations to small and medium-sized companies.

Milton says he believes Allegheny’s approach to “complete supply chain service solutions will enable our customers to focus on their core business while we find the right way to move their products. Our company has an excellent reputation in the export/import business and these new services allow us to provide the full range clients need in a global network,” he added.

Located next door to the U.S. Customs Office at the New River Valley Airport, Allegheny works with offices and agents in 80 cities throughout the world. The company has been affiliated for almost 10 years with the Virginia Leaders in Export Trade, a government program that provides training to businesses interested in developing international trade.
